Markets for Everyone!

Fresh, nutritious and healthy foods should be easily accessible and financially affordable for everyone.  The Alexandria Childhood Obesity Action Network aims to help make the healthy choice the easy choice in Alexandria by promoting and supporting city Farmers' Markets.

There are currently two farmers' markets in Alexandria that accept Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits!

SNAP beneficiaries can use their electronic benefits transfer (EBT) cards at the Four Mile Run Market and the Old Town Farmers' Market.  Both markets have Bonus Dollar Programs, funded by grants and community partners, that double the first ten dollars SNAP participants spend at the market each week.

How To Use Your SNAP Benefits at the Farmers' Market

  1. Visit either of the participating Farmers' Markets

  2. Stop by the Information Booth and swipe your SNAP/EBT card

  3. Receive up to $10 matching double dollar tokens to use at either market
